Obesity, When Is Too Much

Friday, April 16th, 2010

There is a fine line between overweight and obesity, however, there is a thin line to separate them. This is why it is important to know the difference especially when it comes to health versus abandonment.

Obesity is a problem of weight compared with overweight. And most people do not see it, I mean, I still think their numbers are ballooning, ‘Only I have to lose some weight. “However, this is not acceptable in all cases. Overweight people need to lose (only) on 10% of their excess weight to return to their normal weight as defined by the standard height of weight charts. People who are considered overweight have reached a high enough weight to qualify as obese. This does not mean, however, are safe from the epidemic, since they are the closest candidate to obesity. All you have to do is win an astonishing 20% more weight than is pronounced as obese. People who are obese have a great excessive amount of body fat in relation to lean body mass. Over weight and obesity are both determined by this calculation commonly called BMI or Body Mass Index. And both conditions, totally the same health problems. The only difference is the degree of intensity. (more…)

How to Eat to Lose Fat

How to Eat to Lose Fat

I used to interview elite bodybuilders on their training and eating to live and he did it for years and years. A recurrent theme kept appearing to speak when he went to diet and nutrition was the amount of food outside the top bodybuilders packed on a daily basis. These men teach their bodies how to handle continually greater amounts of calories without becoming fat. Contrast this with the typical obese person who eats one meal a day and adds body fat at the drop of a hat. I am working with a team of obese people and with great success using modified bodybuilder eating tactics to help obese people lose body fat.

The first order of business for obesity is to establish a multiple meal schedule. The obvious advantage of this strategy is to divide the daily calories into smaller pieces. I require the obese to eat every three hours and, in general, works to five day supply. Second, insist that the cleanliness of food choices. Some foods are easily converted into body fat (sugar in food, artificial foods and saturated fats) and some foods are almost impossible for the body to convert fat (lean protein, fibrous carbohydrates). The body’s metabolism kicks into high gear to digest protein and fiber – creates what is called the thermogenic effect of food. Body temperature increases when the digestive system is faced with the difficult task of breaking the difficulty of digesting protein and fiber. (more…)

In addition, an obese person is defined as 20 per cent above its weight. About fifteen percent, or nine million children and adolescents under 15 years are obese today. This is triple what the rate of obesity in 1980. Is expected to increase to 20, even 30 percent as we move forward in 2007 and earlier. As you can see this is a problem that needs to be fixed promptly.

But how can we fix the teenage obesity?

Children Obesity

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

The neck arteries in obese children and adolescents, have a look similar to people age 45 years, according to research presented at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions 2008.

A saying goes: “You are as old as his arteries”, which means that the state of your arteries is more important than their actual age in the evolution of heart disease and stroke, “said Geetha Raghuveer, professor of pediatrics at the University Kansas City Missouri School of Medicine and cardiologist at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

“We found that the condition of the arteries of these children is more typical of a person 45 years of age, when someone their own age.”
